Performing and entertaining has been New's greatest interest since young. He was given the first public exposure during his National Service where he was the emcee for the Guards booth at the Carnival @ Marina. From then on, He started to look out for more casting calls in order for him to be more exposed to performing arts. After unsuccessful auditions in StarIdol and SuperHost, He was invited back by Mediacorp to participate in this show call Never Say Die. In Never Say Die, He get to gain even more enriching experiences in acting on stage and on screen.After Never Say Die, New took up Acting Course @ Singapore Media Academy to further improve on his acting skill. He was cast in Mediacorp Ch 5 sitcoms, Ch 8 Drama and Ch 8/Ch U Variety.
Other than acting on screen, New has been actively working backstage @ Mediacorp. With his backstage experience, New are able to understand and work better with the crews when he is acting. One of his most fulfiling backstage experience is working as Wubby aka Crowdwarmer for LIVE shows like the PSC Night, Sheng Siong Show and Campus Superstar 2009. Working as Wubby has allow New to be more confident when speaking to the crowd and greatly improve on his Emcee skill.
